Website
Domains
Every site gets a free address on tornaly.site. On any paid plan, you can connect a domain you own, like yourshop.com.
Your free address
- Every site lives at
yourname.tornaly.site. You pick the name the first time you publish. - Letters, numbers and hyphens only. Some names are reserved.
- You can change it in Website → Domain. Links to the old address stop working, so update your Instagram bio and Google profile.
- On Free, your site shows a small “Made with Tornaly” badge. Paid plans remove it.
Connect your own domain
You need:
- A paid plan: Website, Booking or Front Desk.
- A domain you already own. We don’t sell domains: buy one from any domain company (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, Squarespace Domains and so on).
- A login to the place where you manage that domain’s DNS settings (usually the company you bought it from).
Go to Website → Domain → Connect a domain
Type your domain, like
yourshop.com.Add the records we show you
Open your domain company’s DNS settings in another tab and add each record exactly as shown. Settings shows the real values for your site; they look like the table below.
Choose Check my DNS
Most changes show up within an hour. Some domain companies take up to 48 hours. You can close the page; we keep checking and email you when it works.
Secure connection, done for you
Once the records are right, your site gets a secure (https) certificate automatically. There is nothing to buy or renew.
Pick your main address
Choose
yourshop.comorwww.yourshop.com. The other one, and yourtornaly.siteaddress, send visitors to it.
| Type | Name (or Host) | Value (or Points to) |
|---|---|---|
CNAME | www | The address shown in Settings |
A | @ (your bare domain) | The IP address shown in Settings |
TXT | The name shown in Settings | The verification code shown in Settings |
Note
Some domain companies offer an ALIAS, ANAME or “CNAME flattening” record for the bare domain. If Settings offers that option, you can use it instead of the A record.
Important
Don’t change or delete your MX records. They deliver your email. We only need the records Settings shows.
If it doesn’t connect
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| “We can’t find your records yet” | Wait an hour and check again. Then check for typos, and that you added the records to the right domain. |
| “Another record is in the way” | Delete old A or CNAME records for the same name — often left over from Wix, Squarespace or a parking page. |
| It worked, then stopped | Someone changed the DNS settings. Put the records back, then choose Check my DNS. |
If your plan changes
If you move to Free, your own domain sends visitors to your tornaly.site address and the badge comes back. Your site stays online. Pick a paid plan again and your domain reconnects.
Email on your domain
Tornaly doesn’t host email. Keep using your current email provider; connecting your domain to your website doesn’t affect it.
