Get started
Quickstart
Sign up, set up your business, publish your website and make your first test booking. Everything saves as you go.
1. Sign in with your email
There is no password. Go to Sign in, enter your email, and choose Email me a code. The email has a 6-digit code and a sign-in link — use either one. If this is your first time, signing in creates your account and takes you to setup.
Note
The code works for 15 minutes and only once. See Sign-in & sessions.
2. Set up your business
Setup has five steps, about 10 minutes in all. Everything saves as you go: leave with Save & sign out and pick up where you left off.
Your business
First, Just me or I have a team — it decides what the next steps ask. Then your name and, optionally, your mobile (never shown to clients). To get text alerts, verify your mobile in Settings → Notifications after going live — see Notifications. Then the business: name, type, country, time zone, address and phone, and the main language you use with clients. The country sets your currency (CAD for Canada, USD for the US) and can’t be changed later. Tick the box to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, then Create my business.
Services & prices
We start you with typical services for your business type, each with a Suggested price. Tap Use to keep a suggestion, or type your own — nothing ever guesses a price. If you continue with suggestions still untouched, you’re asked Are these your prices?: choose These are my prices or Let me change them. Set how long each service takes and how often clients usually come back. These services also fill your website and your booking page.
Team & hours
With Just me, this is simply When do you work? — your own hours, with a break if you take lunch. With a team, add each person who takes appointments, their hours and the services they do, and optionally give them a login.
Hours & rules
How the AI front desk sounds (friendly, professional or casual), a short description (or Write one for me) and your opening hours (filled in from your team’s hours). Then pick a starting point for your booking rules — Relaxed, Standard (most shops) or Strict — and any no-show or late-cancellation fee.
Go live
Check what your business looks like to clients. Going live needs at least one service that is on and one person who takes bookings. If you want deposits, tick Open payments right after going live to connect Stripe next.
| Rules preset | Book at least | Free cancellation until | Deposit after | Also |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Relaxed | 30 minutes ahead | 2 hours before | Never | — |
| Standard | 1 hour ahead | 24 hours before | 2 no-shows | — |
| Strict | 2 hours ahead | 48 hours before | 1 no-show | New clients need your approval; 50% late-cancel and 100% no-show fees suggested |
Everything stays editable in Settings → Booking rules. Fees are noted on the appointment for your team, never charged automatically.
Note
A new business may be reviewed by our team before it goes public. Until it’s approved (usually within a day), a banner says so, and your public links and the AI front desk’s replies to clients stay off. Try it works in the meantime, so you can test right away. Our team checks who signed up (your name, email, mobile and address) before approving; if we can’t approve your business, we email you the reason and the banner shows it.
3. Publish your website
Open Website in the sidebar
Pick one of the 9 templates. Your name, services, prices, hours and address are already filled in.
Make it yours
Click any text or photo to change it, or tell the AI what you want: “Make it black and gold.” See Editing with AI.
Choose your booking button
Tornaly booking, your Booksy, Fresha or Square link, or no button. See Booking button.
Publish
Pick your free address (
yourname.tornaly.site) and choose Publish. You can connect your own domain later on a paid plan.
4. Make a test booking
After going live you land on Today, which shows a short setup list (see step 5). The quickest test:
Open Try it in the sidebar.
You play a client, in a phone-style chat.
Ask for an appointment
For example: “Can I get a haircut Saturday afternoon?” The AI front desk offers real open times.
Pick a time and give a name
It holds the time, then confirms the booking.
Check your Calendar
The booking is there. The panel What the assistant did shows each step it took and every check it ran.
Important
Test bookings are real calendar entries. Cancel them from the Calendar when you are done, so the time opens up again.
Tip
Also open your booking page and your chat link from Settings → Share your link. That is exactly what clients see.
5. Finish setting up from Today
Channels, your client list and the rest wait for you on Today, as a setup list that ticks itself off as you go. Each item opens the right page:
| Item | Done when |
|---|---|
| Try your assistant | You’ve chatted with it in Try it. |
| Publish your website | Your site is live. See Publishing & SEO. |
| Share your booking link | A real client has written to you or booked. See Share your booking link. |
| Import your clients | An import finished, or you already have 20 or more clients. |
| Connect WhatsApp, Connect Instagram, Get a text number | That channel is connected. While Meta or a carrier is still checking, the item says what you’re waiting on. See WhatsApp, Instagram and SMS. |
| Answer common questions | You have at least 3 FAQ answers. |
| Set up comebacks | You’ve reviewed your comeback settings once. Comebacks stay off until you turn them on there. |
| Turn on deposits | Payments are connected and a deposit rule or service deposit is on. |
| Invite your team | Someone else has a login. Only shown if you chose I have a team. See Roles. |
| Pick a plan before your trial ends | You’re on a paid plan. Shown in the last week of the trial. |
Tip
Your 30-day free trial includes everything in Front Desk and needs no card. If you don’t pick a plan by the end, you move to Free and your website stays online. See Trial & your subscription.
