Notifications
Who gets told what, how, and when — and how each person tunes it.
Where notifications arrive
- The bell in the app — everyone.
- Email — urgent alerts right away, everything else in a daily digest.
- Text — optional, for urgent alerts only. Sent from your texting number, so it needs SMS connected.
Your mobile for text alerts
Texts go to each person’s own mobile. Add yours in Settings → Notifications → Your mobile for text alerts: enter the number, choose Text me a code, and enter the 6-digit code. Only you use it; clients never see it.
- Someone without a verified mobile gets no texts (email and the bell still work).
- An owner who hasn’t added one gets texts at the business phone on file (Settings → Your business).
- When several people would get the same text at the business phone, it’s sent once.
What you’re told about
| Event | Urgency | Default |
|---|---|---|
| A conversation needs you (hand-off, complaint, sensitive topic, low rating) | Urgent | Owner, Manager, Front desk: bell + email right away. Provider: bell. |
| A booking request to approve | Urgent | Same as above |
| Time off added over booked appointments | Urgent | Same as above, plus the affected provider |
| A payment problem (refund failed, dispute, deposit issue) | Urgent | Owner and Manager |
| A channel problem (messages failing to send) | Urgent | Owner and Manager |
| The assistant booked, a client cancelled or moved, a no-show | Heads-up | Owner and Manager: bell, and email in the daily digest. Front desk and Provider: bell. |
| A waitlist spot was filled | FYI | Same as heads-up |
| Daily digest | Summary | Everyone, by email at 08:00, only on days with something new |
| Weekly summary | Summary | Owner and Manager, Monday morning |
Bookings made by your team don’t notify anyone. When a client cancels or moves, the team and that provider are told; when someone on the team changes a booking, only the affected provider is told (never the person who made the change). Nothing from Try it ever notifies anyone.
Your own settings
In Settings → Notifications, each person sets, for each kind of event: Right away, Daily digest (email only) or Off — per channel.
- Quiet hours hold email and text until the morning, in your business time zone. The bell isn’t affected.
- Reset to defaults puts everything back.
- Emails are in your dashboard language, and include at most a client’s first name.
Business-wide settings (Owner and Manager)
- Extra alert emails — people who aren’t on the team (a business partner, say) get needs-you, payment and channel alerts, and the weekly summary.
- Needs-you alerts by email and text — on by default. Off means those stay in the bell only.
- Weekly summary — on by default.
Tip
For urgent alerts on your phone, turn on text alerts for your verified mobile.
